Short-stay facilities (shelters, hotels) have users who do not develop long-term comfort expectations. Long-stay facilities (dorms, barracks) have users who will notice — and complain about — uncomfortable bedding. Match your material to how long people actually sleep on it.

Material specification is only half the equation. The supplier's quality control determines whether you actually receive the material you ordered. Here is how to evaluate suppliers.
Ask for fabric swatches with independent test reports showing: fiber composition (verified by lab), GSM (tolerance ±5%), tear strength, shrinkage, and colorfastness. A supplier who cannot provide test reports is either buying from unknown sources or cutting corners.
