product description

50/50 Wool Polyester Blanket for Reserve and Institutional Supply

✅ 20 years emergency textile factory, no middleman.

Wool polyester reserve blanket shown for quotation preparation in government stockpile planning.

Same specification same quality, price 8-10% lower than trading companies.

We never cut wool content or use recycled wool waste to lower price.

Annual capacity 500,000 wool blend blankets, total 3+ million relief blankets delivered to 30+ countries.

We supply cold area government projects, military camps, prisons and reserve stockpiles through partner traders.

Products meet UN/Red Cross procurement quality standards, support SGS/BV/Intertek third party test.

Once delivered 80,000pcs 50/50 wool blend blankets in 10 days for cold area emergency, helped client catch deadline before temperature drop, saved 35% rush air freight.

Emergency orders start production in 72 hours, strictly follow approved sealed sample.

Note: New wool has slight natural animal protein smell, disappears in 1-2 days ventilation. Totally odorless blankets use excess chemical deodorant, bad for skin.

This blanket uses a target 50% wool and 50% polyester blend, a 160×210cm finished size, 240 GSM fabric and an approximately 1.15kg reference finished weight for institutional reserves and bulk distribution. It sits between the 20% compact wool-blend model and the high-wool reserve series, balancing handle, care, cost and batch control. The 50/50 figure is a target blend; acceptance follows the approved fibre label, pre-production sample and order agreement within applicable industry tolerance.

Define the 50/50 composition for quotation

The 50/50 statement should identify the target fibre composition, not a weight split, weave ratio or packing combination. The RFQ should also state which label or test basis governs acceptance so that the quotation, approved pre-production sample and bulk labels do not carry conflicting claims.

Confirm together Target composition, open size, GSM or piece weight, colour, edge finish, care label and unit packing
Do not infer from touch Softness, odour and appearance do not establish wool content
Reconfirm after change A yarn source, colour, weight, finish or packing change triggers a new review

Configuration recommendations for different use scenarios

Choose specifications based on actual use scenarios, all configurations passed real project test.

1. Cold area disaster relief distribution

Recommended: 50/50 blend, 240GSM, 160×210cm, fabric binding edge, vacuum pack, 30pcs/ctn, moth proof treated.

Why: Warm enough for reference 0-10℃ outdoor short time use, natural wool moisture wicking, fits high altitude cold area relief.

⚠️ Wrong choice cost: Pick pure polyester model, not warm enough for 0℃ weather, whole batch rejected, loss of payment + air freight + project penalty.

2. Military / police camp use

Recommended: 50/50 blend, 260GSM, 160×210cm, thick binding edge, army green/navy, 25pcs/ctn, anti-pilling treated.

Why: Durable, repeated wash 20 times no deformation, anti-static, fits long term camp use.

⚠️ Wrong choice cost: Pick too thin model, not warm enough for camp winter; pick high wool content model, easy to pill and shrink, high replacement cost.

3. Government long term reserve

Recommended: 50/50 blend, 240GSM, 160×210cm, lock edge, independent PE pack with moth proof agent, 30pcs/ctn.

Why: About 10 years storage life in dry ventilated warehouse with moth proof treatment, no rot, no moth damage, meets national reserve standard.

⚠️ Wrong choice cost: No moth proof treatment, 2-3 years storage gets moth eaten, total reserve budget waste.

4. Prison / detention center winter use

Recommended: 50/50 blend, 260GSM, 160×210cm, reinforced binding edge, dark grey/black, 25pcs/ctn, washable treated.

Why: Tear resistant, industrial wash 30 times no shrink no pilling, durable for long term repeated use.

⚠️ Wrong choice cost: Pick pure wool model, easy to shrink and felt after wash, needs frequent replacement, higher total cost.

5. Institutional welfare / bulk donation

Recommended: 50/50 blend, 220GSM, 150×200cm, overlock edge, mixed dark colors, 35pcs/ctn.

Why: Warm, cost effective, fits winter welfare distribution, better warmth than pure polyester with small price gap.

⚠️ Wrong choice cost: Pick pure wool model, cost 40% higher, unnecessary for one time distribution.

Balance material character with batch control

Wool content influences handle, moisture response and care expectations, while polyester supports a more controllable bulk structure. A 50/50 label does not establish a fixed warmth rating. Actual use is also affected by GSM, thickness, construction, finishing, environment and user habit. We can prepare a project sample against the agreed scenario, but temperature or performance requirements should be confirmed through the agreed test method before quotation.

Order Terms

Order Terms:
MOQ 500 units. Lead time: 10-15 days for standard orders, 15-20 days for large bulk orders, 20-35 days for customized items. Standard quotations are generally available on EXW, FOB or CIF terms; DDP can be evaluated for selected destinations according to the country, product and order requirements.

50% deposit will be required upon order confirmation to start production, and full balance to be settled before shipment.

Flexible payment arrangement can be discussed for institutional buyers and emergency relief tender projects, supports L/C at sight and Sinosure.

9 industry tricks to avoid when buying bulk wool blend blankets

These problems you will only find after receiving goods or storage, most suppliers will not tell you in advance, you can test by yourself in 1 minute.

Wool polyester reserve blanket shown for tender document review in government stockpile planning.

  1. Wool content fraud: Quote 50% new wool, actual use 30% waste wool + 20% recycled wool, or even 20% wool + 80% polyester. How to test: Do fiber content test by third party, or burn test: pure wool smells like burning hair, ash crushes easy; chemical fiber smells like plastic, hard ash. We provide free 10*10cm test sample for your own test.
  2. No degreasing, sheep smell: Wool not fully degreased, strong sheep smell when open, especially after wet. How to test: Open sealed sample, smell immediately after open, strong smell means bad degreasing. We do high temperature degreasing twice, only slight natural smell, meets OEKO-TEX standard.
  3. Excessive shrinkage: No pre-wash shrink resistant treatment, first wash shrinks 8-10cm, becomes small and thick. How to test: Wash sample in cold gentle water, measure size before and after, shrink over 5% is unqualified. We do pre-wash shrink resistant treatment, shrinkage ≤3% after wash, meets industry standard.
  4. Uneven blend: Yarn uneven, some area more wool some more polyester, color and hand feel different. How to test: Touch 5 different points on sample, obvious hand feel difference means uneven blend. We test blend evenness every 10m fabric, no obvious hand feel difference.
  5. No moth proof treatment: No moth proof agent added, storage 2-3 years gets moth eaten, especially for reserve stock. How to test: Ask for moth proof test report, or seal sample for 30 days, check for moth damage. We add non-toxic moth proof agent in fabric, about 10 years no moth damage in dry warehouse.
  6. Short wool heavy pilling: Use short staple wool less than 3cm, after 2-3 washes heavy pilling, looks old. How to test: Rub sample 20 times hard, obvious pilling means short wool. We use 5cm+ long staple wool, anti-pilling Grade 3-4, no obvious pilling after 10 washes.
  7. Dark color fade: Cheap dye for wool, dark color fades when wash, stains other clothes. How to test: Wipe dark sample with wet white cloth, obvious color on cloth means bad color fastness. We do double color fixation, color fastness to wet rubbing ≥Grade 3-4, 10 washes no obvious fade.
  8. Heavy static: Too much cheap polyester, no anti-static treatment, dry weather static shock. How to test: Rub sample 10 times in dry weather, touch metal, obvious static means no anti-static treatment. We add anti-static agent in finishing, static voltage ≤3000V, no obvious static.
  9. Cotton edge shrink: Use cotton thread for binding, after wash cotton thread shrinks, edge wrinkles and deforms. How to test: Wash edge part, check if edge wrinkles after dry. We use polyester wrapped cotton thread, shrink rate same as fabric, edge flat after wash.

Mandatory quality & safety red line:

All blankets meet OEKO-TEX Standard 100 direct skin contact requirement.

No recycled wool waste, no medical waste fiber, no harmful dye.

Full degreasing treatment, only slight natural wool smell, no pungent odor, no skin irritation.

Moth proof treatment uses non-toxic agent, meets textile safety standard.

Reference fit temperature 0-15℃, not for below -5℃ outdoor long time use. Warmth varies by layer and personal cold tolerance.

Wool product has natural ±3% shrinkage after first gentle wash, this is normal industry character, not quality problem.

Slight natural wool smell in sealed pack disappears in 1-2 days ventilation, totally odorless products use excess chemical deodorant.

Orders we do NOT accept:

❌ Ask 50% wool price but require 80% wool content

❌ Ask us to use recycled wool waste to lower price

❌ Ask for zero shrinkage for wool blankets (impossible for natural wool)

❌ Ask for 100% totally no wool smell (requires excess chemical deodorant, bad for skin)

❌ Ask us to pretend we are direct UN/Red Cross supplier

❌ Ask for fake fiber content test reports

❌ Ask for false temperature rating, e.g. mark 240GSM as -20℃ usable

❌ Ask no moth proof treatment for long term reserve orders

  • Target 50/50 blend tied to the fibre label, pre-production sample and order
  • Size, GSM, finished weight, care label and edge finish recorded separately
  • Yarn source, weight, shade, finishing or packing changes trigger renewed approval

  • Product configuration: target 50% wool and 50% polyester; the 160×210cm finished size, 240 GSM, approximately 1.15kg reference finished weight, colour, edge finish and care label specification are locked by the fibre label, approved pre-production sample and order.
  • Construction and documents: all stress points use double-needle reinforcement. The standard configuration is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, with applicable SGS fiber content test reports, full batch traceability and QC serial numbers available.

  • Lock size, weight, colour and edge finish

Open dimensions and GSM must be recorded separately because GSM is not finished piece weight. Approve colour with a physical swatch or recognised reference and define how batch shade differences will be reviewed. Edge material, stitch spacing, corner execution and thread colour belong in approved pre-production sample review rather than being judged later from photographs.

    Plan reserve packing and identification

Unit bags, labels, cartons and carton quantities should support distribution, stock counts and repeat orders. Custom logos or packaging require lawful customer authorisation. Carton quantity, packed volume and container loading cannot be copied from another blanket; they are calculated after final size, folding process and packing materials are confirmed through a packing trial. We add non-toxic moth proof agent in independent pack for reserve orders, avoid moth damage during dry storage. We support wool special multi-language care labels with wash instructions, reduce end user after sale.

Use a traceable order and acceptance process

A practical sequence is written specification, approval sample, pre-production sample or first piece, bulk inspection and packing record. Incoming checks should cover the composition label, dimension and weight basis, colour, edges, stains or damage, unit packing, carton marks and quantities. This turns the 50/50 claim into a verifiable order field. We provide fiber content test report for each batch, can be traced back to yarn batch.

    Where this configuration fits

The configuration can serve government or institutional reserves, relief distribution, wholesale channels and projects that specify a wool-polyester blend. Where cost structure, compact loading or a higher wool proportion drives the decision, compare the dedicated 20% wool blend, compact-packed or high-wool pages instead of treating the product title as a complete specification. We will launch 70% wool heavy blend and 100% wool premium models later, contact us for early information.

Professional term explanation (save your cost, avoid tricks):
1. Wool content: Weight percentage of new wool in blend. Industry trick: Many suppliers count waste wool/recycled wool as wool content, cost ~$0.17/pc (about 1.2RMB) lower, has smell and easy pilling. We use 5cm+ long staple new wool, content ±3% tolerance, provide third party test report, free test sample available.
2. Degreasing rate: Percentage of wool grease removed in process. Industry trick: Many factories skip second degreasing to save cost, leaves strong sheep smell. Our degreasing rate ≥98%, only slight natural smell, meets skin contact standard.
3. Shrinkage rate: Size change percentage after first wash. Industry trick: Many factories do not do pre-shrink treatment, shrinkage up to 10% after wash. We do pre-wash shrink resistant treatment, shrinkage ≤3%, normal for wool products.
4. Moth proof treatment: Add non-toxic agent to prevent moth damage in storage. Industry trick: Many factories skip this to save ~$0.1/pc (about 0.7RMB), reserve stock gets moth eaten in 2-3 years, total loss. Must add for long term storage orders.
5. Anti-pilling grade: Resistance to fabric balls after friction/wash. Industry trick: Many factories use short staple wool less than 3cm, Grade 2 pilling after 3 washes. We use 5cm+ long staple wool, Grade 3-4, no obvious pilling after 10 washes. Short wool costs ~15% less, not suitable for repeated use.
6. Wool length: Average length of wool fiber used. Longer wool less pilling, warmer, more durable. <5cm short wool costs ~20% less, easy to pill and shed.

Standard sample & certification policy:
Regular sample fee is 30-50USD/pc, sample fee + shipping cost prepaid by buyer, fully deducted when order over 10,000pcs or total amount over 50,000USD. Sample lead time 3-5 working days.
Our existing standard samples can be sent freight collect, you only pay for shipping, no sample fee.
For fiber content test, we provide free 10*10cm small test sample, no sample fee, you only pay shipping.
Project special test/certification (fiber content test, flame retardant, GRS, anti-bacterial etc) fee prepaid by buyer, fully deducted under same order threshold, official report issued in 7-10 working days.
We can produce rPET polyester blend wool blankets normally, provide third party test report. If you need GRS certification, can arrange separately with extra cost and lead time.

A complete product configuration set beyond the 50/50 ratio

Alongside the target blend, show selectable dimensions, GSM or piece-weight basis, colour, edging, care label and packing process. When values are not locked, present them as project-selected fields rather than leave the product undefined. We should build the sample, label mock-up and quotation around one configuration so the composition statement remains connected to the delivered item.

Consequences of changing the material ratio

A 50/50 configuration involves a balance among handle, care, cost and batch control, but any advantage depends on yarn, construction and finishing. Buyers should provide the ratio, weight standard and use environment together. Sample comparison then supports the decision instead of selecting only by the higher or lower percentage.

Wool polyester reserve blanket shown in a practical supply setting for receiving and quality review.

Separate composition support from sensory acceptance

The fibre label and applicable documents support the composition declaration. Handle, colour, pile face and edging are compared with the approved pre-production sample. Neither process replaces the other. If third-party testing is required, define the sample, method, batch relevance and responsibility before production.

Supplier actions from trial to repeat order

Provide a versioned specification, approval sample, label layout and packing trial. Check the first piece before bulk production and cite the item code and sample version on repeat orders. Disclose raw-material or finishing changes before approval to prevent products with the same ratio name from delivering a different experience.

    Inputs for a comparable quotation

Provide intended use, target ratio, dimensions, weight basis, quantity, colour, edging, care, packing, labels, destination and inspection requirements together. A quotation becomes comparable only when these fields describe the same deliverable.

Order specification decisions for 50/50 Wool Polyester Blankets

A 50/50 quotation must preserve the balance represented by the ratio. Composition declaration, finished weight, surface character, care label and edge finish should move together through sampling and production. We lock the following points to avoid same ratio name different product:

    • RFQ required: Confirm target composition and declaration standard, we align label, sample and order document
    • RFQ required: Confirm yarn type and finishing requirement, we provide matching sample
    • Before production: Confirm weight standard (GSM/piece weight) and care label language, we provide measured sample result and label draft
    • Before packing: Confirm color swatch, binding material and thread color, we keep visual reference for bulk
    • Project option: Confirm packing method and moth proof requirement, we do packing trial and return exact carton size and load

Our specific quality control actions (90% of wool blanket suppliers do not do these)

    1. Yarn fiber content test: Test every yarn batch for wool content, length and evenness, unqualified yarn returned. Most suppliers do not test incoming yarn, rely on mill certificate, we provide yarn test report.
    2. Double degreasing test: Test degreasing rate for every fabric batch, ensure no strong smell. Most suppliers only do once degreasing to save cost, we provide degreasing test record.
    3. Pre-shrink treatment test: Pre-wash every fabric roll, test shrinkage rate, control within 3%. Most suppliers skip pre-shrink to save process and water/electricity cost, we provide shrinkage test record.
    4. Blend evenness test: Take sample every 10m fabric, test blend evenness, no area with too much/too little wool. Most suppliers do not test this, leads to uneven hand feel, we provide in-line test record.
    5. Moth proof treatment test: Test moth proof agent content for every batch, ensure effective for about 10 years in dry storage. Most suppliers skip this for non-reserve orders, we add it for all wool blankets.
    6. Anti-pilling test: Test pilling grade every 500 pieces, ensure Grade 3-4. Most suppliers do not test after finishing, we provide pilling test report.
    7. Color fastness test: Test dark color wet rubbing fastness, ensure Grade 3-4, no fade. Most suppliers only test dry fastness, we provide color fastness report.
    8. Static test: Test static voltage after anti-static finishing, control within 3000V, no obvious static shock. Most suppliers skip anti-static treatment to save cost, we provide static test record.
    9. Open pack smell check: Open 5% of cartons to check smell, pick out pieces with strong degreasing smell for reprocess. Most suppliers skip this to save labor cost, leads to customer complaint about smell.
    10. Storage simulation test: Compress and seal 5% samples for 6 months, check for moth, mildew, smell and rebound. Most suppliers only test immediate product, we provide storage simulation report for reserve orders.
    11. Final AQL 2.5 inspection: Check size, weight, edge, color, smell, packing, random 10% pieces weigh and check hand feel, support third party inspection. Most suppliers do not check smell or hand feel, we provide final inspection report.

Outputs that protect the 50/50 identity

Return a blend-specific sample, complete label proof and measured weight result in one confirmed order record. Retain the shade and edge reference and link the unit pack to that same version. Before a repeat order, disclose any yarn or finishing change and show its effect through a new sample instead of relying on the ratio name.

    Final 50/50 order decision

Compare samples at the same dimensions, weight basis and finishing condition to understand the practical effect of the blend configuration. The quotation should also align labels, care, packing and document requirements. The supplier must bind the composition statement to the sample version, label layout and order fields so a repeat purchase does not deliver a materially different item under the same ratio name.

      FAQ

Is 50/50 a guaranteed composition for every order?

It is the target configuration for this product configuration. The approved label, sample and order documents define the final composition. Wool content ±3% is normal industry tolerance for natural fiber blends. Treat 50/50 as an order-controlled configuration. Keep the full fibre wording identical across the quotation, label, sample record and purchase documents.

Does GSM equal the weight of one blanket?

No. GSM is weight per square metre; finished piece weight also depends on open dimensions and tolerance. For comparison, calculate expected piece weight from size and GSM, then weigh the finished sample; edging and tolerance explain why the figures are not identical.

Can wool content be approved by touch alone?

No. Handle is useful for comparison, but composition requires the agreed label and supporting documentation. Use handle to compare approved pre-production samples, not to certify composition. Confirm the blend through the agreed fiber test and any applicable supporting document.

How is colour consistency managed for bulk orders?

Approve a swatch or colour reference, define the batch review method and reconfirm repeat orders. Approve a physical colour reference, define the inspection light or comparison method, and retain that reference for the first piece and repeat order. Wool fabric has natural slight shade difference between batches, we control within acceptable grey scale Grade 4.

Can logos and retail or institutional packing be customised?

They can be assessed for the project after lawful artwork authorisation and pre-production approval. Confirm lawful artwork, label language, placement, unit packing and carton identification together; each revised layout needs approval before bulk printing. Record the trial result with the order because a later specification change can alter the packing outcome. We support wool special multi-language care labels with wash instructions for different countries import requirement.

Wool polyester reserve blanket units arranged for warehouse storage and quotation preparation.

When can carton and container quantities be confirmed?

After size, folding, unit bag and carton construction are fixed and a packing trial is completed. The supplier can run the agreed fold and carton trial after the finished specification is locked, then return carton dimensions and loading calculations with their basis.

What quality documents may be available?

SGS fiber content test, OEKO-TEX certificate and other related documents may be matched where genuinely applicable; scope, product, batch and market validity require verification. Request only documents relevant to the selected product and market. Check the named test item, report scope and applicability instead of assuming blanket-wide coverage.

Which composition fields belong in a 50/50 blend RFQ?

Provide use, target composition, size, GSM or piece weight, quantity, colour, packing, labels, destination and inspection needs. A comparable RFQ states complete composition, dimensions, weight basis, colour, edge, packing, quantity, destination and inspection method in one confirmed version.

Will the blanket have sheep smell?

We do double high temperature degreasing, degreasing rate ≥98%, only slight natural wool smell when first open sealed pack, disappears in 1-2 days ventilation, meets OEKO-TEX skin contact standard. Strong pungent smell means bad degreasing; totally no smell means excess chemical deodorant, bad for skin.

How much will it shrink after wash?

We do pre-shrink resistant treatment, shrinkage ≤3% after first gentle cold wash, this is normal for natural wool products. We recommend gentle wash cold water, no bleach, no hot water, no tumble dry, to minimize shrinkage.

Will it get moth eaten in storage?

We add non-toxic moth proof agent in fabric and independent pack, stored in dry ventilated warehouse, about 10 years no moth damage. We recommend store in dry ventilated place, avoid wet, can add extra moth ball for extra long storage.

      Will it pill after wash?

We use 5cm+ long staple wool, anti-pilling Grade 3-4, no obvious pilling after 10 gentle washes. Slight pilling on high friction area after long use is normal for wool products, can be removed with lint shaver.

Wool polyester reserve blanket units arranged for warehouse storage and sample confirmation in government stockpile planning.

Can I wash it in washing machine?

    • 50/50 blend supports gentle cold water machine wash, no bleach, no tumble dry. Higher wool content 70%+ or 100% wool recommend dry clean to avoid shrink and felting.

How many pieces can load in one 40HQ?

240GSM standard 50/50 blend approx 45,000pcs per 40HQ, exact quantity after final packing trial, we provide exact load calculation for free.

What if wool content not meet test standard?

If third party test proves bulk wool content not meet target within ±3% tolerance, we re-produce for free or fully refund, bear round trip shipping cost, written in sales contract.

Do you support neutral packing? Will you contact our customers?

We fully support neutral packing, customer brand and labels. We never put our contact information in goods, never contact your customers directly, your customer resources are 100% protected.

Do you have GRS certificate for recycled blend?

We can produce rPET polyester blend wool blankets normally, provide third party recycled content test report. If your project strictly requires GRS factory certification and batch TC, we can arrange it separately, which incurs extra certification cost and longer lead time, certification fee can be fully deducted when order meets MOQ.
